Business Tip: Intend, Act, Measure, Repeat. Faster!

Perhaps my recent birthday has something to do with today’s business building message.

We are too old to waste time.  That may not “land” if you are in your twenties.  However, it seems like I was 20 years old about 15 minutes ago.

At 20, I graduated college and turned down a half dozen “real job” offers.  I became a ski bum and a windsurfing instructor and adventurously traveled the country.  At 24, I became Mrs. Hot Rod, the Plumber’s Wife.  Max, the perfect son, was born when I was 26. You can increase the odds that someone else will notice you. And you can leverage a publicity hit into more than your fair share of exposure.

Dean Rotbart calls this […]

Would you go into the backcountry without a plan?

Once upon a time, I was a professional a ski patroller. I was part of an avalanche “control” team. I use the word “control” loosely because when it comes to avalanches, I know a couple things. #1: you are never in control. #2: given #1, you are well served to learn as much as you can about snow and weather and geography as you can before you go traipsing around in avalanche country.
